Consulting

Light Tec has several years of experience in designing and optimizing optical components, such as light guides, reflectors, non-imaging optics, nearfield optics and illumination systems. All components are carefully designed and modeled in 3D CAD and imported into LightTools for optical simulation.
Light Tec Consulting Group ( 3 optical engineers) designs opto-mechanical parts according to specifications in collaboration with a wide range of clients. We pay great attention in simulating the light through the actual 3D geometry with the correct materials and surface properties assigned and to evaluate the results. We can assist in choosing appropriate light sources for a given application and during the design phase the number of LED's needed in electro-optical products will be optimized.
The consulting services by Light Tec include both initial design work and redesign of existing parts in research projects as well as in commercial products in any phase of the development. Integrated product development and the collaboration between optical, electrical and mechanical designers are recognized as valuable tools in achieving the best overall solution. We are experienced in both mould design as well as in non-optical mechanical design. This is important when designing ready-to-mould light guides and extending the optical part with features for fastening without loosing the primary optical function. This also means that we are qualified to discuss mechanical and mould related issues with the client or the client's supplier.
Software: we are working with Solidworks (mechanical CAD software) , LightTools (illumination CAD software) and CODE V(optical design software) Measurements: we do have a photometric laboratory in our office in Hyères including : Photometer, Spectroradiometer, Standard source, Videophotometer, and BRDF/BTDF (scattering) measurement bench. We also have the capability to measure the intensity distribution of LEDs. Training : Light Tec offers different training session, from basic training on illumination design or optical design software up to complete opto-mechanical engineering course. Most of these courses are private and custom-designed and given at customer facility.
